Fare thee well, Phoenix!

Phoenix has ceased to be. I'll leave this site up for a month or so, with the last data that it collected. Thanks all the Phoenix devs for all the hard work and abuse that they put up with and still managed to provide a solid play experience.

What Is This?

This is a simple website for tracking the Phoenix freeshard server population trends.

Here are a few things you can do!

  • Click on (or off) different realms to see how they compare.
  • On the hourly and daily charts, drag agross the x-axis to zoom in to a smaller time range

    • Let me know if there's other data you'd like to see!

    Caveats/questions

  • What about RvR? Sadly I don't have any numbers on the who's actually RvR'ing. There is all sorts of speculation about one realm or another being "all PvE", but I doubt it. My suspicion is that each realm in RvR is about the same fraction of the total population, but I have nothing to back this up.
  • Your data is crap/wrong! Could be. I scrape the website a few times an hour, and every time I've actually checked /serverinfo vs the website, it's been the same. However, I don't get numbers ALL THE TIME, so I will miss peaks and valleys in population. And, everything you see here is averages and max values for a time frame.
  • Can I get a copy of your data? Maybe. Depends on what you're looking for. I can maybe make an API for some aggregate numbers, or you can scrape my site for the javascript and get them. But ALL the data, likely not. I enjoy doing this for free, but I'm not going to do it for YOU for free. Let me know what you're looking for; perhaps I can provide it.

    • What is this?

    This is the maximum population seen for each realm for the day.

    NOTE! The max realm population for each realm may have "peaked" at different times during the day, so the TOTAL doesn't represent an accurate total server population at any particular time, since it's just the addition of the peaks.

    Note that this doesn't update until midnight (Eastern) to get the maximum population for the entire day, so it will never contains "today's" data.

    What is this?

    This is the maximum population seen for each realm, each hour of the day, for the past 7 days.

    The vertical bars represent each new day's start (eg: midnight). All times are US Eastern Time Zone.

    What is this?

    This is the average population per hour of day, for the last 30 days.

    This is to gauge when the server is typically busy or light.

    What is this?

    This is the relative population of each realm for each day of the past week.

    This is based on the realm population at the time of the day when the server had its maximum total population.

    What is this?

    This is the general health of the population for each realm, each day, for the last week.
