Everquest Emulator Population FAQ

How do I see different servers?

You can however toggle any server on or off by clicking on their names at the bottom of any chart.

If you mean your favorite server isn't on the list, it just means I'm not collecting data for them. If you'd like to see it let me know and I can add it, but I won't have history for it.

How often is this updated?

Data is COLLECTED many times an hour.

The daily charts are calculated in the background 2x/day (just in case one fails). The "by hour" is calculated 2x/hour.

Of course, you wont SEE updates since the data is mostly the same for the 2 runs; this is just a redundancy in case a server is down or something.

What this means is that there is no point in refreshing more than once every 30 minutes.

Why did the server color change?

I rank servers from most populated to least, based on an average population over some time period. This is pretty standard graph "user experiece". (Very) occasionally a server may raise or lower in average population to swap rank with its neighbor. Since colors are based on rank, the color changes.

Your data is wrong!

Not really a question, but let's address it. The data is not "wrong", in that it's what EQEmulator reports, which I suspect is pretty authoritative.

That said, there are a few reasons why you might see different numbers here than elsewhere.

Where do you get your data?

From the serverlist page on EQEmulator.org

I don't 'get' the health graph. What is it?

I've explained it badly on the page. It's essentially a measurement of how many average players a server has had over the last week compared to how many average players it's had over a longer period. If that more recent number is higher, the chart shows green. If it's lower, red.
